Phoenix Concert Band Chesterfield
The Phoenix Concert Band is an adult, community wind band based at the Methodist Church, Hasland, a suburb of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We were founded in 2001 and are supported by Mansfield Building Society.

We play a varied selection of music ranging from marches, musicals, films, solos and contemporary works for wind band to suit a wide range of musical tastes.

More about the Band

We are excited to reveal that our summer concert, will take our audience on a trip of a lifetime with a whirlwind tour around the world.  It will feature music from varying parts of the globe, including Gershwin's An American in Paris, Bernstein's Candide Overture, Piazolla's Libertango plus many more.
The concert will take place on Saturday 1st July at St Paul’s Church Hasland commencing 7.30pm.  Tickets £6 adults £3 children under 12 available from Hasland Chiropody 38 Mansfield Road Hasland Chesterfield  tel:  01246 279521 (all messages returned)  or telephone Linda Nelson on 01246 238575 after 6pm.

We will also be playing on the Bandstand in Queen's Park, Chesterfield on September 17

​Our Musical Director
Matt Appleyard studied conducting while at the Royal Academy of Music, Junior Department.  Later during his degree course at Bangor University he and some friends reestablished the University concert band with a programme of successful concerts.  
He now lives and works in Hasland and teaches for the Nottingham Music Service where he is also involved in a Saturday Music school and conducts the intermediate and senior youth orchestras
